Dear Member, 

It’s only mid-March—“fool’s spring,” in these parts—but you can definitely see signs that winter is losing its grip. Besides warmer days, a lot of us are suddenly feeling more optimistic. Earlier this week, we re-opened our lobbies, after they were closed for several months because of COVID-19. And starting today, many of you will soon find a new round of stimulus checks direct-deposited into your accounts. You can learn more about that here.

Lobbies Are Now Open

Thanks to wider availability of the COVID-19 vaccine and decreasing numbers of COVID-19 cases in the communities we serve, we are excited to reopen the lobbies of all three of our branches.

Three of our members have recently reported they’ve received emails seeking to verify their password. Remember: Adirondack Regional FCU will never call you for your password, or ask you to send it over email.

Health Savings Accounts Now Available 

Business owners: We now allow you to offer health savings accounts (HSAs) to your workers. When you add an HSA to your small business account, each of your employees will receive a debit card pre-loaded with the amount they’ve set aside for medical expenses. Learn more.

If you’re a member at our Plattsburgh branch, you know Lauren Patnode: She started at Adirondack Regional as a teller in 2012, and became branch manager in 2016. Her bright green Jeep is hard to miss—though that’s not her only passion.
 
I love it here because: I grew up in Mooers, and I’ve never really pictured myself living anywhere else—our family and friends are all here. My husband and I moved closer to Plattsburgh in 2014. We really enjoy being a short drive to everything!
 
What I like most about Adirondack Regional: There is so much about my job that I love, but mostly I love being able to help people. Sometimes, it’s helping members get their dream car or home. Or maybe they are just starting out with credit and need guidance, or just need help balancing their account. It’s truly a joy knowing I can help someone. Plus, our members here become like family, and that’s something I really enjoy about working here.

People are surprised to learn: Makeup is a hobby and passion of mine. I have always wanted to do makeup professionally for special occasions such as proms or weddings.

The best advice I ever got: Love what you do, and you’ll never work a day in your life.

My professional goal is: To continue to grow and learn within the credit union.
