Forward Forward

Dear Member,

It’s April, which is officially recognized as Financial Literacy Month. You’ll read some tips later to help get your own financial house in order. As your credit union, though, we want to do as much as possible to be there when you need us. In the next two years, each of us who works with members—our tellers, branch managers and loan officers—will become a certified financial counselor.

There’s already at least one CFC in each of our branches. Are we required to take this step? No, but we’re making this commitment to bring even more value to you. It's what we do.

NEWS FROM YOUR CREDIT UNION

It's Financial Literacy Month
We’ve pulled some helpful tips together to help you put money aside for the future, plan for a big purchase and simply do a better job allocating your money. But you don’t have to do any of this alone: You can stop by any of our branches and speak with a certified financial counselor who can give you advice on budgeting, ideas for retirement and more.

Thank You, Vikie!
A familiar face is leaving our Potsdam branch—but somebody you may know is stepping in to take her place. Carol Houle will be the new manager in Potsdam, taking over when Vikie Jones leaves for Montana at the end of April. Carol, who has been with the credit union for 18 years, has held nearly every position possible as she advanced.
We're Hiring!
Carol’s promotion means we’re looking for a new lending officer. In this job, based in Plattsburgh or Tupper Lake, you’ll evaluate loan applications from businesses and individuals. Most importantly, you’ll work directly with our members—solving problems and creating opportunities. Are you interested, or know somebody who might be? Learn More & Apply.
Save the Date: Annual Meeting
As a credit union member, you’re also an owner. Join us for our 2022 Annual Meeting on Friday, May 20, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Tupper Lake Public Library (41 Lake St.). Members will have the opportunity to hear from credit union leadership about our financial performance and also elect two members of our board of directors.

Scholarship Deadline Coming
You have until Monday, May 2, to apply for one of 10 college scholarships. If you’re a high school senior from Clinton, Essex, Franklin or St. Lawrence county and have been accepted into a two- or four-year college, you’re eligible for the Donald DeVirgeles Memorial Scholarship. Apply Now!

HAVE YOU TRIED THE MARSHMALLOW CHALLENGE?
What's going on here? Well, it's called the Marshmallow Challenge and is 100% going to help us better serve our members. It also 100% made us laugh - a lot - during Team Building last month.
