The cost of college shouldn’t stop qualified students from pursuing higher education. Which is why we stand ready to help.

Once again, Adirondack Regional FCU is awarding 10 scholarships worth $6,000 to college-bound high school seniors from Clinton, Essex, Franklin and St. Lawrence counties. To qualify, students need to have been accepted into a two- or four-year college and have a GPA of 2.7 or higher. Applicants do not need to be credit union members.

If your child, or someone you know, could benefit from a college boost, please encourage them to apply. Applications are now being accepted until Monday, May 1.

NEWS FROM YOUR CREDIT UNION
Smart(er) Money
Any investor will tell you: It’s a lot better to put your money to work, earning interest or growing in an investment, than to let it sit idle. It’s no different here. We invest our members’ assets—the deposits you entrust with us—in safe, government-backed securities. And with the money we earn, we’re better able to provide you with more
effective, competitive and innovative services. Recently, Financial Specialist Basel Farhat passed his Certified Credit Union Investments Professional exam. Here's what that means for you.
Member Story: Sara Posdzich

About a year and a half ago, Sara Posdzich had the chance to come back home to Keene for an extended spell. The certified nurse midwife had been working at a practice in Saratoga Springs, but when she returned north, she noticed: Women in this area have few options for health services tailored specifically to their needs, both physical and mental.

That realization was the genesis for her new Lake Placid practice, With Woman Wellness.

Things are coming along nicely with our Potsdam renovations. Check out our Facebook page for a few images captured last week of the progress. Thanks to Scott Williams and his team, your hometown credit union will be better than ever. And we sincerely appreciate your patience during the process.
BANK NOTES
Our Tupper Lake branch welcomed two new tellers earlier this year. We’ll introduce you to one this month:

Name: Alivia Bartocha
Position: Teller
Hometown: Bombay, NY
How she arrived in Tupper Lake: I moved here for a job in March 2019
Favorite part of the job: Getting to know the members.
People are surprised to learn: My first name is spelled with an ‘A,’ not an ‘O.’
Whenever I meet someone who is not from here: I recommend they check out the Raquette River Brewery and the food trucks that are there.
The best piece of advice I've ever received: Is to always be humble and kind.
