Dear member,

First, I'd like to thank the nearly 200 people who joined us for Bark in the Park. Tri-Lakes Humane Society is still counting donations, but regardless of the total, the event was a huge boost to community spirit. Thank you.

In this newsletter, we keep that spirit going with a member story of Matt Griffin and his dream of creating the Northern Adirondack Pet Fund. We also look back on some kind words from our Donald DeVirgeles Memorial Scholarship winners, thank members for their school supply donations and highlight a staff change in Potsdam.

NEWS FROM YOUR CREDIT UNION

Pet Project

Matt Griffin’s new organization, the Northern Adirondack Pet Fund, is dedicated to helping local residents get the resources they need to care for their four-legged friends. So it makes sense that he wants to do his banking someplace just as dedicated to our hometowns. This is his story.

Putting the Future Within Reach

One of the most rewarding (and difficult) tasks we have every year is selecting the 10 recipients of our Donald DeVirgeles Memorial Scholarships. These awards — two for $1,000 each, and eight for $500 apiece — help deserving young men and women realize their college dreams.

Bow Wow!

You helped make the Tri-Lakes Humane Society’s Bark in the Park celebration the best yet: Over 190 people attended this year’s event at the Tupper Lake Municipal Park, not to mention their dogs, cats and other pets. Even the Adirondack Daily Enterprise made the show.

School Supply Drive Complete

Your generous donations helped support students in three different schools: Saranac Central School, Hermon-DeKalb Central School and L.P. Quinn Elementary School in Tupper Lake.

Thank you.

THANK YOU, JOE.
After two years as assistant manager of our Potsdam branch, Joe Fogarty left Adirondack Regional FCU on Sept. 11 for other opportunities. We’re going to miss him as much as all of our members in Potsdam.

You already know the person taking his place, though: MaKayley Miller, a Potsdam native, has been promoted from teller to assistant manager.

Good luck to Joe and congratulations to MaKayley!
