Forward Forward

Dear Member,

Over the past year, I think a lot of us have come to realize what’s really important in life. For us at the credit union, professionally, I think that answer has only been reinforced: Our members, and our communities. So when our staff from all three branches participate in our annual Earth Day clean-up activities in a couple of weeks, I think we’ll all be doing it with more than the usual amount of gratitude. A special note: In Tupper Lake, our staff will be participating in a clean-up in Demars Park on Saturday, April 24, from 9:30-noon. If you’re free, we’d love to see you out there!

Escrow Now Available

Speaking of home loans. Starting this spring, we're offering members the ability to add escrow accounts with all new mortgages. We’ll calculate how much money you need to spend on taxes and insurance, and add the amount to your monthly mortgage bill. And when the bills come due, we’ll take care of the payments. Learn more.

We're Growing in Plattsburgh

We're doubling the size of our Plattsburgh branch by renovating and moving to 672 Route 3 (the former home of Kneucraft Fine Jewelry) by the end of June. . You’ll still work with the same great staff—just in a much bigger space, and easier access to the drive-thru window. Check it out.

BANK SHOTS
When Melissa Richmond started at Adirondack Regional, Y2K was a hot topic, Google was one year old and the iPod didn’t exist. In other words: She’s been here a while! Since 1999, Melissa has been a fixture in our Tupper Lake branch. Read on to learn a little more about her:

How long have you lived in Tupper Lake? I came to Tupper Lake when I was 12 years old. After many years of moving from state to state (my father worked for the oil industry), my parents wanted me to experience the freedoms that come with smaller communities. Tupper Lake is now home. I love that you know your neighbors and friends become family.

What drew you to the job—and what keeps you here? It was a perfect opportunity for a mom with two small children. I could still be home at night and get to participate in after school events. The hours are what drew me to the job. However, it was the challenges that made me want to stay. I wanted to learn as much as possible from my peers. I have had the pleasure of working alongside a variety of different people. Each person has made a difference with what they have brought to the credit union.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten? Work hard to accomplish your goals, but make time for life and family!

How do you fill those hours away from the credit union? On my downtime, I love to surround myself with family and friends. I love to go camping, sit by a fire and listen to music, or most recently, take a ride through the woods on our 4-wheelers.
