Forward Forward

It's that time where we get a little - ahem - spring in our step when the sun shines brighter, the air feels warmer, and the afternoon stretches a bit longer. I feel it too.

It's also the time of year where many of us start to figure out a way to get out of town. It is called "mud season" for a reason. If you're traveling, don't forget that as an Adirondack Regional FCU member, you have free access to over 30,000 ATMs across the country. And if you have any trouble while you're on the road, our 24-hour support is there to help.

Of course, whether you're on the road or just down the street, we're here for you. Always.

NEWS FROM YOUR CREDIT UNION
Let's (Easter Egg) Roll
This Saturday, join us at noon at L.P. Quinn Elementary School in Tupper Lake for the annual Erin’s Easter Egg Hunt. The event, which is free to children in fifth grade or younger, honors the memory of Erin Farkas Dewyea, a beloved teacher who taught at L.P. Quinn before her passing in 2014. And, of course, the Easter Bunny will make an appearance. Hope to see you there.

Member Story: Heath Andre
When Heath Andre bought the business that became Lake Champlain Sanitation in 2018, he inherited 40 household accounts “and an old, beat-up pickup truck." Today, that business has grown to nearly 700 households. The old pickup is gone; in its place are three new trucks, dumpsters for rent and a whole lot more. Find Out.
Scholarship Applications Due
Did you know: The average cost of tuition and fees at a private college is $39,723? Adirondack Regional FCU is awarding 10 scholarships to take some of the sting out of that sticker. High school seniors from Clinton, Essex, Franklin and St. Lawrence counties are eligible for Donald DeVirgeles Memorial Scholarships. Applications are due May 1.

BANK NOTES
Meet Alexandria Hodgson—but you can call her Lexi. One of two new tellers in Tupper Lake, she joined us this winter. Learn more about her!

How did you wind up here?
I'm originally from Marcellus, N.Y., and I moved to Tupper Lake for the first time in 2014, then again in 2019. I wound up here because after going to Paul Smith's College and living in Saranac Lake I moved back to the Syracuse area. I wasn't entirely happy there so I decided to come to Tupper. I had my son in 2017 and moved back to Syracuse to live with my mom and have the help I needed at the time, then came back here just before the COVID-19 pandemic began.
What keeps you coming back?
I suppose it's the small-town atmosphere and the geography of the area that keeps me returning.

What’s your favorite part about working here so far?
I love getting to see everyone regularly as they come in to do their business. Some people I don't see as often outside of work so it's nice to say ‘hi’ when they come in.

Tell us something people would be surprised to learn about you.
I guess that would be that I am artistic and can draw and paint as well as create epoxy resin items. I can also sing pretty well, however, I almost never take that outside of the shower and the car.

If you meet somebody who isn’t from here, where do you tell them to go?
If I meet someone who isn't from here, I tell them to hit up The Wild Center, Raquette River Brewing, Fusion Street Pizza, and Well Dressed Food. Of course The Wild Center is the main attraction around here, but I always make sure to send people to the good food and drinks.

Can you share the best advice you’ve ever gotten?
The best advice I've ever gotten is to let go. Let go of control, expectations, the past, etc.
