Forward Forward

Dear member,

As spring turns to summer, I'd like to take a moment to congratulate local graduates. Whether you flipped your tassel this month at college commencement or are getting ready to take the leap from high school in June, you've earned it.

I would also like to take this opportunity to honor our veterans this Memorial Day Weekend and thank the families and friends who continue to keep their memory alive in all of our lives. Here's a few opportunities in our area to remember:

Tupper Lake
Saranac Lake
Long Lake
Potsdam
Plattsburgh

And, check out this virtual tour of the Washington Monument in Mount Vernon.

NEWS FROM YOUR CREDIT UNION

Scholarship Winners Announced in June
We received an incredible 130 applications this spring for the annual Donald DeVirgeles Memorial Scholarships. We loved reading each application and will announce the winners - two from St. Lawrence County, four from Franklin County and four from Clinton County - in June.

Safari Tickets Are Coming
It's a bit of a teaser, we know, but the recent warm temps have also had us thinking of summer waterslide fun. Starting in June, we'll once again have discounted tickets to Enchanted Forest Water Safari in Old Forge available at our branches for members and non-members. Learn More.

Support Local Food Pantries
There is never a wrong time to support our community food pantries. This month, we donated $500 to ADK Unite, a virtual run-walk-bike-hike event supporting 10 different area food banks and we're currently collecting non-perishable and unopened food items for the Tupper Lake Community Food Pantry at our Tupper Lake branch.

BANK NOTES

Meet Mackenzie
The newest member of the Adirondack Regional FCU family is Mackenzie Greenwood, who started building her career here in January (you’ll see what we did there in just a moment.)

Where are you from?
My hometown is Tupper Lake; I just moved back last year!

What is your favorite part of the job?
So far, my favorite part of my job is getting to know the members, their families, and even their pets! Lots of members enjoy sharing their plans for the day, which trip they’re planning next, their hobbies and some even share their special recipes!

Tell us something about yourself that people are surprised to know.
Some are surprised to learn I’m 22 and still have the patience to build Legos. I would say my favorite build that I’ve done would have to be my aquarium or birdhouse. A particular genre I enjoy building and happens to be the one I have most of is race cars. My boyfriend and I watch F1 so we have a good collection going!

And I love taking my cats for walks—yes, walks!

What do you like most about living in Tupper Lake?
The thing I like most about our community is the family friendly atmosphere and how beautiful it is. I’ve learned to enjoy the little things in life like gardening, sitting beside the fireplace and going down to the park to watch the sunset and listen to live music at the bandshell.

STARTING A NEST EGG?
