You are Never Too Young to Learn How to Manage Money
Starting at age 15, young adults are eligible to open a young adult checking account, if a parent is a member of our credit union. There is no minimum account balance and, if approved by the parent, a debit card may be issued. Don’t worry if you’re new to banking as a young adult. We offer financial counseling on-site to help you learn the basics of managing your finances. Plus, parents can deposit money at any time and access the account to keep up on management progress.
Whether using the attached debit card (if approved by a guardian) to pay for gas or movie tickets or thinking about setting up your very first savings account, getting an early start on controlling and managing your money is a good step toward financial independence.
