Whether you’ve been a member of Adirondack Regional FCU for one year or 50, you’re in good company: Over 403 million people belong to credit unions around the world across 82,000 institutions in 98 countries.

We think that’s worth celebrating! This Thursday, Oct. 17, stop into any of our branches between 9–11 a.m. to mark International Credit Union Day, an annual event sponsored since 1948 by the World Council of Credit Unions. We’ll provide doughnuts and drinks, as well as all the reasons why credit unions are such a force for community improvement in all the places they operate. (Did you know 1.4 billion people around the world don’t have banking services? The theme of this year’s celebration, “One World Through Cooperative Finance,” stresses the importance credit unions have in helping all people gain access to financial services.)
